Ways to spend a January weekend in Margate

Ways to spend a January weekend in Margate - Ballarat House Sleeps 10

January got you feeling blue?

Thinking of a late break already?

Ballarat House has rare availability this weekend - so why not drop the routine and pop down to Margate for a breath of fresh beach air?

Here are just a few fabulous things you could do this weekend:

Try the brand new Fort Road Hotel restaurant

Chef Daisy Cecil used to be the coat check girl for Elizabethan banquet events but now, via the River Cafe, she heads up the brand new restaurant at the equally brand new Fort Road Hotel. She serves up simple seasonal food with a generous Mediterranean twist.

18 Fort Road, Margate CT9 1HF

Check out the Zoe Artingstall exhibition at Little Swift cocktail bar

Catch up with the colourful work of Margate School graduate Zoe Artingstall at Little Swift cocktail bar on Margate seafront. Drink from their range of brand new cocktails (surely not everyone is enjoying a dry January…) and take turns admiring artwork and the wonderful view over Margate main sands and the harbour.

Sample a brand new bar: Streets Margate

Streets Margate opens its doors for drinks and snacks only for the first time this weekend on Northdown Road. Why not try their own wine, boldy named BOLD? Open 6-11pm on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th January

BUMP! At Bar Nothing

Get out and about on Saturday night - BUMP! kicks off on Sat 14th at the infamous Bar Nothing on Cliftonville seafront. The Deadbeats DJs will play a selection of phat, psychedelic, mind melting, utopian, boogaloo beats. Make of that what you will :) One thing is for sure, it’s bound to be fun.
